Film Society

The Cropredy Film Society was inaugurated in Spring 2007 and currently has a membership of around 200. New members are always welcome and you do not need to live in the village to join.

Membership is required so that the society can operate under the appropriate licensing agreements.

Life membership costs £10

Concessionary fee for Over-60s of £

CROPREDY FILM SOCIETY

Application for membership

Membership is required so that the society can operate under the appropriate licensing agreements.

A lifetime subscription is £10, with a concessionary subscription for Over-60s available at £8

Each screening will cost a member £8per seat, which includes supper and an ice cream. Members may bring up to two guests, and each guest ticket is £10.

Screenings are held in Cropredy Village Hall.

ALL seats must be booked in advance and paid. In order to comply with licensing agreements, there is no opportunity to book on the night for that evening’s film.

In addition to the film suppers, which run from September to St George’s Day in April, there are free Sunday matinees in the winter. The films shown are less mainstream than the Saturday films, e.g. subtitled. There is a separate mailing list for the members who would like to come to those screenings. They take place in the chairman’s home, which means there is no liability for a licence – and therefore no charge to members.

If you are interested in joining, please download the application form, complete it and – essentially – sign it. Then please post or deliver the signed form with your subscription payment to Frances Whitaker, The Barn, Kyetts Corner, Cropredy, OX17 1JW Telephone in case of queries: 01295 758448

Information and programmes are sent to members by e-mail, and are published in the Cropredy Crier and on the village website, and if possible, in the Banbury Guardian on the village news page. A poster is displayed on the Green noticeboard, in the Village Hall and at The Mulberry Cafe, where tickets are for sale (closed on Mondays)

Those wishing to have postal communications must supply the Secretary with stamped self-addressed envelopes.

You do not have to live in Cropredy to be able to join.

The Committee members will be happy to answer any queries. Brenda Day, Janet Green (Treasurer), Sarah Girdlestone, Janice Lake, Mary Richardson, Mel Robins, Verna Wass and Frances Whitaker (Secretary)

Election of Officers and committee takes place annually, usually at the February screening together with the Annual General Meeting.
