Margaret Boscott Awarded a British Empire Medal

Margaret Boscott has been awarded a British Empire Medal in the King's Birthday Honours, for services to the community in Cropredy

Congratulations to Margaret Boscott for this much deserved honour. Margaret’s British Empire Medal was awarded for services to the community in Cropredy.  Margaret’s huge contribution over many years includes:

  • Serving as Parish Councillor for 50 years, only retiring last year
  • Organising the annual sale of Fairport Tickets to villagers since 1977
  • Serving as Trustee for Cropredy Welfare Trust
  • Setting up and running the Friends in Retirement Group
  • Serving for many years as Booking Secretary for the Village Hall
  • Being a dedicated member of Cropredy Methodist Church
  • Helping to raise thousands of pounds for Oxford Children’s Hospital with Cropredy WI and Knit and Natter Group.
  • Knitting numerous toys to raise money for Katharine House and the Air Ambulance

Our thanks go to Margaret for her tireless service to the village and for the way she welcomes newcomers and is a friend to all.
